It’s the time of year where we all make resolutions and then we break them a few weeks into it. Its just a fact of life. We promise to do things like live better and exercise more, quit smoking, reduce or need for the credit card and in the end we are inevitably side tracked and lose our way. Here are some snipets from experts across the country who were asked why people don’t seem to be able to stick to their resolutions.
Gym trainers see it all the time, people coming in ready to make a commitment and they sign up for a 12 month contract, they have the best of intentions they just lack the support set-up to make it happen. Most people, our experts said just don’t think how important it is to have a supportive team around them so they just come into the gym alone.
Not only will a personal fitness instructor help them with the knowledge and motivation to reach their goals but working out with a family member or a friend will actually keep you on that used treadmills. The advantage to having a trainer is having someone who can make sure you make it through all the complicated workouts safely.
People all the time try to commit to eating better, working out and learning more about how to take care of their bodies. They take all the right moves, they get themselves all ready to go and then…they fail miserably, why? The just don’t have a solid well thought out plan. Here is a tip in making those changes stick, start with just the diet. Eliminate the nasty sugars, stop eating out for lunch and start drinking a lot more water. The improvement in both how you feel and how you look will be obvious within a few short weeks. After you feel you have a solid diet in place your body will begin to level out at its new weight, if you still want to shed more pounds than you need to start buring off more than you are taking in.
This can be done simply with a short walk at the end of the day, or even on the used treadmills you may buy from the local gym. The key to making these changes stick is to continuously make small changes and build bigger and bigger momentum. Make sure you are patient with yourself and you are proactive about making changes.
