I know this is more than likely a topic that does not get discussed very often for a variety of reasons, but today I would like to talk a little about looking at the many different types of test strips for diabetics to use and the different attributes that each one has.
One of the main reasons that many people do not think about trying different types of test strips is because they simply take the ones that are recommended by their doctors. I did the exact same thing before I started experimenting with several other types of glucose meters and test strips. I was first given a set of contour diabetes testing supplies and they worked out great. I had no problems with this brand of monitor and supplies. However, when I was given other brands of testing supplies I found out that there were features on these brands that I really liked and found very useful.
I have had about four different types of glucose meters and each one of them had a different type of test strip. Overall, all of them fulfilled their purpose in helping me to get accurate results, but some did this a little better than others and worked better for me. I found that I liked the test strips by freestyle the best for a few reasons that I will get to in a second. First of all, they worked really well with using the least amount of blood possible in order to get an accurate reading. This meant that I had fewer error results than ever and I ended up saving a lot of money. I know that most people usually don’t think about it, but these test strips do cost a bunch of money when you think about it. Anyways, freestyle test strips worked the best for me, but you should consult your own doctor to talk about the different type so supplies to which ones will work best for you. Thanks for reading this post and have a great day.
